What to do for Valentine's Day this year in Denver

Valentine’s Day seemed to come quick this year and maybe that’s because this whole year is flying by! The weather is just starting to feel like winter and we are already half way through February. So gentlemen, and ladies, do you have anything special planned for Valentine’s Day that is only two days away? I know a lot of people struggle with the holiday for many different reasons but I have always said it is just another day to show the special people in your life just how much you care about them and love them. So if you haven’t thought of something yet to do with your significant other or your friends or your family, here are some fun things to do around Denver that will be sure to be full of love.

Go Ice-Skating downtown – If you haven’t been to the Downtown Denver Rink at Skyline Park yet, you should take your loved ones there for Valentine’s Day. If you bring your own skates it is free and if you need skates, the rentals are only $6-$8.

Love potions from the vine tour – The Denver Botanic Gardens likes to celebrate the season of love with an enticing tour of aphrodisiac plants that tickle the senses. All tour participants will also receive a romantic souvenir to take home with them.

Colorado Avalanche vs. Montreal Canadiens – If you have someone in the family who is more of a sport lover then anything, go ahead and get tickets to the hockey game and give them what they really want for the holiday.

Mediation with Horses – At the Medicine Horse Program in Boulder, visitors have the chance to enjoy a ninety-minute meditation practice with the horses that includes mindfulness and breathe control.

Typewriter Poet Michael Prince – Who said writing isn’t a thing anymore? Maybe you have had your eye on someone for a while but don’t have the courage to tell him or her how you feel, maybe writing them a letter would be best but you don’t know how to begin. Head to BookBar and have typewriter poet Michael Prince write you up a little something to send to your special someone.

Glow & Flow: Partner Paint & Play – Maybe you have a yogi in your life who wants to do something a little different this year for Valentine’s Day. Head to RiNo Yoga Social where you can be painted in body paint that glows in the black lighted up room. You will enjoy yoga, meditation, yoga games and a bit of massage all while glowing.

Go out for a romantic dinner – This is usually at the top of most people’s lists when it comes to celebrating Valentine’s Day and who can blame them? If you haven’t made a reservation yet, you might want to get on that quick and one of the best websites I have used is Open Table - https://www.opentable.sg/promo.aspx?pid=102&m=5 - have a look and find the perfect spot to enjoy a romantic dinner for two!

Have a happy and safe Valentine’s Day everyone!
